• The Cameo series documents nocturnal excursions into forests and landscapes, often undertaken in extreme cold and under the cover of darkness. These journeys are marked by an almost absolute silence, broken only by my own movements or the occasional sounds of wildlife. Equipped with a portable spotlight, each venture begins with the cautious step into the dark forest. The cold is often biting, and the darkness all-encompassing. The beam of the spotlight serves as the only visual anchor in the otherwise impenetrable night.

Occasionally, animals become visible within the light’s reach—the sudden glow of their eyes can be both startlingly beautiful and unsettling. These moments are fleeting; more often than not, the creatures vanish quickly back into the safety of the darkness. Such unexpected encounters leave behind a lingering sense of awe, sometimes even fear, triggering an instinctive urge to retreat.

The intense emotions of these explorations stem not only from the presence of wildlife but also from the heightened awareness that much more is happening unseen, beyond what can be perceived. This realization amplifies the instinct to flee and reinforces the feeling that one may not entirely belong to this hidden nocturnal world.
